C&NW engines 8556, 8023, and 8531 lead the JROLC through Lusk, WY on May 18, 1992. This train loaded at Jacobs Ranch mine and is headed to American Electric Power's Public Service of Oklahoma Northeastern power plant at Oologah, OK. During 1998, the plant consumed almost 3.7 million tons of Wyoming coal at $20.40 per ton. This is the cost of the coal at the mine plus the transportation charge. |
