A BN empty coal train from the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) Fayette Power Project Sam Seymore power plant at Halstead, TX rolls north through Lynn, CO on August 22, 1980. This train had engines 8071, 6309, 7064, 7844, and 5102. The loaded train operated over the BN to Fort Worth then via the MKT from 1978 through 1987, when the transportation contract shifted to the Union Pacific. During the service melt-down on the UP in 1997, several of the train sets began operating over this exBN trackage again. |
