Santa Fe train 975 Cedar Hill, TX

Train 975 with 63 cars heads toward Cedar Hill, TX and its final destination of Dallas late in the afternoon on April 11, 1987. It has engines 2331, 2241, 2106, and 6368. Just north of Cedar Hill is the home of Carr Tracks at Duncanville. This line once saw six to eight trains a day. In June 1992, the segment from the Hale to Tower 19 was sold to Dallas Area Rapid Transit for an electric commuter line. The remainder of the branch from the Red Bird Industrial area to Cleburne remains active with a heavy train out of Cleburne to Ward Spur, where there are two cement plants and a steel mill, and a local from Ward Spur to service the Red Bird Industrial park.
