Just west of the town of Fort Sumner the railroad crosses the Pecos River. This bridge is one of the three remaining sections of single track between Clovis and Belen. Extra 5585 West is gliding over the impressive structure on May 16, 1978. You can see the town of Fort Sumner in the background.
