The "Oil Cans" was a regular afternoon visitor to the Tehachapi Loop for several years. The last trip over Tehachapi Pass was in 1996. On June 8, 1987 engines 9164, 9085, 8316, 8276, and 8519 lead train BKDOU around the Loop. The train has 72 loads at 9,500 tons.

Helper power is provided by engines 8271, 9382, 7468, 8232, 7525, and 7443.

This train operated between Saco, California (7 miles North of Bakersfield) and Dolores, California from September 1983 until October 1996 when the train began loading at Mojave. Most of the time the train had six interconnected sets of 12 cars each. After the pipe line was extend to the LA area in 1998, the train began operating over the Coast Route to a new loading facility at Wunpost. Disk 44
