The Union Pacific Railroad joins the Santa Fe Railway at Daggett about six miles east of Barstow. Train 109 (Extra 8722 West) rattles across the switches at Daggett on February 18, 1974. The first car is carrying a Boeing fuselage assembly.

At one time there was an interlocking tower here. In 1940, the Santa Fe rebuilt the interlocking tower with GRS components. The tower then controlled 13 signals and 9 switches. I can't find the exact date, but the functions of this tower were moved to East Tower in Barstow sometime in the 1950s. A 3rd main between Barstow was Daggett completed in 2006. Disk 50
