Local freight train at Canadian National Yard in Kamloops, BC

Engine 5602 brings a short local train into the south end of the Canadian National yard at Kamloops on May 21, 1980. You can see the main part of town on the hillside in the distance. The elevation here is 1,153 feet. The tracks branching off to the left cross the South Fork of the Thompson River and join CP Rail at the east end of their yard in downtown Kamloops. CN uses that trackage to access their branch to Kelowna. Disk 4
