It is September 1973 and there is a new spur at Fleta and the helpers for westbound trains off the Palmdale-Colton Cutoff. Waiting in the new spur is a helper set lead by engine 6913. Engine 4358 and another SD9 are handling today's Blitz. Following close behind is another helper set.

A little further south, I caught the Searles Turn headed to Los Angeles with engine 6909 on the point. Cut in about two thirds deep is the helper set lead by engine 6905. Disk 48
