Just north of the Canadian border from Sumas, WA there is a small BC Hydro yard. There was not a lot of action this day. But several years later my prayers were answered as I was able to return in 1987.

Notice the push poles on the sides of both engines. You can move cars on an adjacent track using one of these poles. This practice had already been banned in the US and when I returned in 1987 the poles were gone. If you look at the locomotive frame in the picture below you will see a push pole pocket. Disk 5
