Engines 7155, 7156, 4356, and 6925 pull a Southern Pacific westbound across a dry stream bed. This train and the one below are both going uphill toward Summit, but the SP is a westbound and the Santa Fe an eastbound.
About ten minutes later, AT&SF Railway hot piggyback train the Super C (Extra 5621 East) is headed for the tunnels just above Alray siding on February 4, 1974.
