Southern Pacific bay window caboose at Ferris, Texas

SP Extra 8333 West (north) is in the siding with caboose 4012 meeting Extra SLSF 843 East at Ferris, TX on November 1, 1980. In 1980 the SP and SLSF began a run through train interchanged at Denison, TX. This service didn't last long as the BN acquired the Frisco Railway in 1981. The power on the southbound train will be cut off at Ennis and take the northbound run thru train to Denison. Caboose 4012 was built by Pacific Car & Foundry in 1961. It was rebuilt and renumbered from the 1400s in 1974. Disk 98
