Santa Fe caboose 999102 brings up the rear of train symbol 594 (Extra 3639 West) at Justiceburg, TX on October 29, 1977. This caboose was built by the Santa Fe in 1942 as number 2170. It was rebuilt in 1967.
On the siding is Extra MP 3094 East with train 865. This was a run through that finished off the Roscoe, Snyder & Pacific. Until the connector track was built in the mid-70s at Sweetwater, the RS&P handled all of the interchange traffic between the two railroads. The RS&P had traffic agents in major cities in the southeast and southwest routing traffic via the 30 mile long RS&P. In 1966, there were four trains a day handling the interchange traffic between the MP and ATSF. By the early 1980s, most of the RS&P trackage had been torn up. Disk 105
