Santa Fe Railway caboose on ATSF train symbol VCWPX at Lupton, Arizona

Caboose 999403 is the former 1750. It was built by AC&F in 1929 and rebuilt in 1969. In this picture taken on February 24, 1988 it is at the end of train VCWPX. The train has just left New Mexico and entered Arizona at Lupton. Train VCWPX began on Nov. 2, 1987 and became the VKCPX on June 1, 1989. It handled TOFC and auto racks for Belen and Phoenix. This train also filled with manifest traffic and was rarely on schedule. From November 1987 through January 1988, the VCWPX ran 98 times with about 18 percent arriving in Phoenix on time. Disk 66
