Santa Fe train VLAKC with caboose 999553 has just passed East Tower in Amarillo on February 15, 1988. This interlocking tower protected Santa Fe's crossing of the BN and Rock Island. From November 1987 through January 1988, the VLAKC operated 73 times with 37 percent arriving in Kansas City on time. Disk 104
