Westbound Southern Pacific train symbol UPSFT with engines 8422 and 8828 rumble out of Tunnel 1 and across the Humbolt River just west of Palisade, NV on June 3, 1978. Palisade is at milepost 526 (eight miles west of Carlin). The truss bridge in the fore ground belongs to the Western Pacific.
