Western Pacific train TOF (Extra 3539 East) crosses the big bridge at the Keddie wye on November 4, 1976. Coming off the High Line is Extra BN 6433 West. This was the site for the golden spike ceremony marking the completion of the Western Pacific in 1909. The north leg of the wye and the line going north to Bieber and a connectin with the Great Northern was completed in November 1931. In the picture below coming out of Tunnel 32 is train 138 with engines 3531, 3543, and BN engines 2104, 2103, and 2154. Disk 26 |
