Santa Fe train symbol 876 on massive deck truss bridge over the Colorado River

Extra 4649 East (Santa Fe train symbol 876) crosses the Colorado River at Topock, AZ on November 2, 1977. The train is leaving California and entering Arizona. The Santa Fe built this double track deck truss bridge over the Colorado River in 1944 to replace the old 1890 Red Rock gauntlet truss bridge. Locomotive 4649 was a rebuild of an EMD SD24 at the San Bernardino shops. Disk 73
