Southern Railway steam engine 4501 on bridge near Front Royal, VA

Engine 4501 chugs over highway 55 east of Front Royal, VA in June 1976. The engine ran several special passenger trains out of Washington, DC in celebration of the Nation's Bicentennial. This is another poured concrete design. On this bridge you can see that the Southern Railway has carved their name into the side of the bridge. Disk 123
