I chased this train from Leavenworth to Scenic. This train derailed just beyond Tonga near the Foss River Bridge where I took the previous picture. Here Extra 6481 West is about at the end of Chumstick Valley and will swing left through a series of tunnels and rejoin the original line near Winton. The GN rerouted the line up the Chumstick Valley in 1928 to avoid the narrow and dangerous Tumwater Canyon just west of Leavenworth.
