Train 138 (Extra 5628 West) is coming out of Crozier Canyon on November 1, 1977. This location is just off the old US 66 about three miles north of Valentine. The original mainline was off to the right and had a wye for turning helpers. The current right of way was built in 1923 when the Santa Fe was adding double track from San Bernardino to Belen. |

The next morning I tried to walk into the canyon to get some more pictures. However with the low sun angle at this time of year, it was going to take quite awhile before the bottom of the canyon would be in full sunlight. I caught this eastbound and then headed south to Kingman. Disk 73 |
