Santa Fe Railway train symbol 668 at Seligman, AZ

In 1886, Tom Bullock directed the construction of a railroad line from a connection with the transcontinental route south to Prescott. The little junction community took the name of Prescott Junction. However, with the completion of the line from Ash Fork to Prescott in 1896, this railroad line was abandoned and the town was renamed for Jesse Seligman, who was famous for financing railroad ventures. Train 668 (Extra 5643 West) stops at Seligman for a crew change on November 1, 1977. The installation of CTC between Seligman and Needles was completed in 2003. Disk 73
