I noticed that the gate was open from A-1 Mountain Road down to the tracks. So I decided to take the easy way in. I normally try to get on the sunny side of the tracks to take pictures, but in this case I didn't have time. I chose to stay safe and hope for the best. The second section of train symbol 508 (Extra 5431 West) crests the highest point in Arizona for the AT&SF at Riordan on May 24, 1989. Riordan is at milepost 351 at an elevation of 7,313 feet. This is the third highest pass on the Santa Fe. |
