Navajo was originally named Navajo Springs because of a marshy area that provided good grazing for horses. Train 805 was third in the series with engines 9564, 5112, and 5996. The better time for photography at Navajo is in mid-morning since the orientation of the tracks from Lupton to Holbrook is southwest to northeast. However given the choice between getting some train pictures and getting one perfect picture, I'd go for getting several pictures. You never know what will turn out. Train 805 handled traffic for Lubbock and Fort Worth. It was scheduled out of Barstow at 6:00PM and out of Winslow at 7:50AM the next morning. Disk 67
