Right on the heals of the QNYLA is train 169 with engines 8094, 5985, and 5803. This picture was taken closer to the railroad crossing in Lupton. Train 169 handled lower priority TOFC traffic for Richmond and empty refrigerated trailers for loading perishables in the San Joaquin Valley. It was scheduled out of Chicago at 2:00AM and out of Gallup at 3:10PM the next afternoon. Due to the low priority of the traffic on this train, it had the worst record for on-time performance on the Santa Fe. During early 1988, all of these trains were over an hour late into Richmond. However, this train is actually close to schedule. Lupton is at milepost 180 at an elevation of 6,185 feet. Disk 66
