Santa Fe Railway Super C in Kingman Canyon

Santa Fe Railway westbound train in Kingman Canyon

During our September 1972 trip we stopped at the Holy Moses Wash bridge for a couple hours. The first train was a westbound manifest.

The next train was the eastbound Super C. The train was scheduled to leave Los Angeles at 9:30AM and would see the sunset somewhere along the western end of the Albuquerque Division during it first days journey to Chicago. A treat for us was the westbound Amtrak Chief. The train didn't last long running only from June through September 1972. It was scheduled out of Albuquerque at 8:00AM and out of Needles at 4:40PM.
