Brinkley was almost wiped off the map when a tornado went through town in March 1909. Of the 1,000 or so buildings that had been there, only a church and about 15 homes were left standing. The current station was built in 1912. The station has been restored and now serves as the Central Delta Depot Museum. Conrail engine 6395 leads SP train symbol CRPBZ by the Brinkley depot on October 4, 1978.
Later the same afternoon just a few minutes before sunset B&O engine 4064 pulls train symbol BOPBY by Conrail 8220 north of town. The train on the left had died on the law and was waiting for another crew. Disk 97
