Piggyback train 185 rolls through Akron, KS on the Douglas Subdivision late in the afternoon of June 9, 1978. This 30 mile stretch of Santa Fe single track was dark territory at the time, so train speed was restricted to 45. Now it has CTC and trains can do 55mph.
