Southern Pacific train symbol LAHOT by Tower 17 in Rosenberg

Tower 17 began protecting the crossing of the Gulf, Colorado, & Santa Railroad with the Galveston, Harrisburg, & San Antonio Railway in 1903. Engines 6508 and 9385 lead the first section of SP train symbol LAHOT by Tower 17 in Rosenberg on October 21, 1977. As other interlocking towers were closed Tower 17 became the last manned railroad tower in the state of Texas. The interlocking tower closed in 2004 and was moved to the Rosenberg Railroad Museum.
