The New Mexico Rail Runner Express was building a new passenger station at the north end of the yard in Belen during my October 2006 trip. Commuters can now board a Rail Runner train and zip into Albuquerque or go all the way to Santa Fe. The SLHAPTR (LA Harbor Pier 400 to Port Terminal Railway in Houston stack train) has come down the hill from Dalies and is slowing for refueling and a crew change. The train had engines 5113, 4674, and 7674.

Notice that the BNSF was busy installing new signals at the junction. Best time for pictures here is early in the morning as the tracks run almost due north-south.
