Just west of the town of Fort Sumner the railroad crosses the Pecos River. The bridge was built in 1906. One hundred years later, the SLPCLHA (Logistics Park Chicago to LA Harbor Pier 400 stack train) rumbles across the big bridge over the Pecos River in October 2006.

Much of the scenery around Fort Sumner hasn't changed much over the last 100 years. It is mostly vast open spaces. There are now a few more houses just off to the left from where Jack took this picture, but for the most part the area from the south end of the bridge to Yeso remains about the same.
