The Texas North Western Railway interchanges with the BNSF at Etter. The railroad was not operating on the day of my visit, but there was a train conveniently posing for pictures east of town.

Engine 116 is on the point of the train. At one time the unit had a steam generator and an oscillating head light above the regular head light.

I did an internet search but couldn't find any history on these engines. Anyone know the lineage?
